At the British Alpaca Futurity Show this last weekend (The UK’s premier alpaca show) – Melford Green Alpacas scooped 7 rosettes, 2 championships and the award for most successful small breeder!

NEXT EVENT - MARCH : Introduction to Alpacas at Melford Green Alpacas
Provided by Melford Green Alpacas (www.melfordgreenalpacas.co.uk) , Bull Lane, Long Melford, Suffolk, CO10 0BG (tel: 01787 374142), commencing at 10:00 (until 15:30) on Saturday 20th March (bring your own lunch but refreshments provided).
This will be a course of instruction at the premises of Melford Alpacas in Long Melford. There will be hands on work with the animals and this is ideal for those who are thinking of becoming Alpaca owners as well as those just interested to learn more.
Tickets are priced at £35 per person and the day is limited to 10 so book early to avoid dissappointment however, if the interest is there, a further day could be arranged which will cover the next steps in husbandry, breeding and vaccination.
APRIL EVENT : Annual Members Day
This years Members Day will be hosted at Bridge Farm, Halesworth Road, Chediston on Sunday 25th April. This is your opportunity to come and meet all the Suffolk Smallholder members, network and chat all in the excellent surroundings of Veronica and Graham Downings farm at Chediston.
More details will be posted here, as the fine detail is worked out, but make sure you put this date in your diary and be sure to bring along the whole family.
MAY EVENT : Introduction to Bee Keeping
Please note that this event, originally planned for April has been rescheduled for May. The date will be advised very soon.
Introduction to Bee Keeping by Tim Freathy to be held at Rookery Farm, Depden, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 4BU (on the A143). The course will commence at 10:00 and run until 12:00. This will be an introduction to the keeping and handling of bees.
