Suffolk Smallholders Society
This site is best viewed in windows with  Internet Explorer with display set to 1024x768 Pixels
The Suffolk Smallholders Society is a non-profit group of like minded people interested in smallholding, self sufficiency, allotments, fruit and vegetable growing and animal husbandry on a small scale.

We have a varied membership, ranging from people with a tomato plant growing on the window sill to smallholders and small farmers with 10s of acres to keep them busy.

Membership of the Society is open to all families who have an interest in smallholding and the countryside. Membership is currently around 360 member families, mainly from Suffolk but also from Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex. We also have a few members from further afield.

The Society runs a varied diary of training events, informative meetings with a guest speaker, regular open days to members properties (called Nosey Sundays) and we have an annual show where we can show our livestock, produce, machinery and generally get together for a good time. For future planned events please press the DIARY button in the menu.

Elsewhere in this web site you can find photos of members holdings and plots and animals.

For produce for sale, grown or produced locally by our own members, why not visit the PRODUCE pages. The SALES & WANTS page is for equipment and stock for sale by our members. Please feel free to contact them if you are interested in anything listed.

The Society publishes a free monthly newsletter for members featuring articles about the society's events and other general interest topics, together with a classified section for members to advertise anything they have to sell, products or services they offer, or any 'wants'.

A Members' Directory is distributed to members of the society who elect to contribute information for it. This enables contact between those members to trade or exchange ideas, information, product or livestock. This document is governed by the Data Protection Act.
